Intellectually Us was designed to make tutor services more accessible to minoritized and underserved youth. Intellectually Us offers affordable tutor services that place an emphasis on representation and self-advocacy for youth in grades k-12. Our purpose is to use education as a tool to pour into our youth and therefore our future. Intellectually Us’ tutors are thoroughly trained and provided with teaching tools that enhance their ability to efficiently incorporate diversity into their lesson plans. In addition, IU's tutors are licensed educators that have experience teaching in formal education settings. We believe that representation plays a vital role in exposing youth to the unlimited possibilities of their future and allows them to feel included in the curriculum that they are being taught. Due to this we go the extra mile to dive into the various cultures and histories of our students and use this information to create lesson plans for our youth. IU tutors are trained to utilized culturally responsive teaching methods to establish a learning conducive environment that incorporates the students cultural learning styles, family structures, and environment. Intellectually Us tutors are also trained to empower and equip youth with the tools to advocate for themselves both inside and outside the classroom. This includes exposing them to terms and resources that cater to their learning style, enhancing their communication skills, and teaching them how to articulate academic injustices that hinder their learning. This aspect of Intellectually Us encourages youth to take part in their learning experience and ensures that they are being properly supported to achieve academic success. Intellectually Us partners with tutors that are passionate about education and equipped to nurture student’s development. Our tutors are personable and strive to develop meaningful relationships with students and their families to create a strong support system that inspires academic development. Our tutors’ focus is to ensure that students are on grade level and properly absorbing the information that they learn. Parents will benefit from their ability to customize their child’s learning experience by choosing specific subjects or areas of focus for their student to engage in. Our goal is to help students develop as confident learners that are more likely to pass their grade level with efficient understanding of the concepts covered and less likely to drop out of school due to frustration and academic disconnect. Intellectually Us will provide online tutoring and educational support in the following areas: Mathematics English Language Arts (ELA) Science History/ Social Studies Foreign Language (Spanish, American Sign Language) Our online format allows us to serve students all over Ohio, as opposed to in one specific area. Each student that signs up with Intellectually Us receives a free student assessment for their current grade level. This assessment is used to create a personalized tutor plan. The lesson plans for each tutor session are created based on the student's tutor plan. The student's tutor plan is updated every 90 days to document the assessed progress and areas of improvement.

Each Service Provider conducts their business differently and may collect payment for their goods/services in one of two ways:

1. Parent/Guardian pays for goods/services at time of service. This type of purchase can be reimbursed with OH ACE account funds directly to the parent/guardian via claim submission with an attached receipt in the OH ACE app as long as the parent/guardian has connected their bank account to the app.

2. Service Provider issues an invoice to the parent/guardian for goods/services. This invoice can be paid directly to the Service Provider using OH ACE account funds by submitting a claim with the attached invoice in the OH ACE app, as long as the Service Provider has set up their account to receive those funds.
